I start this first post of my blog with a firm quote that was made by Winston Churchill - "Never waste a good crisis". Why? You could ask yourself. Well, I came across this quote on someone else's page when fully being in the thinking process whether or not to start my own company. And honestly, this quote made me realise so many things from which I will try to explain a few in this post.
First of all, the obvious topic that comes to mind when reading this quote is the current Corona crisis. Yes - I am obliged to confirm that this pandemic outbreak has impacted my life in an outmost crazy and terrifying dominate way. I guess that I am no different than other people and that I must admit that I never thought such a crisis was possible. I also never imagined that humanity could stand so defenceless and unknowledgeable against such a situation anno 2021.
The funny thing is that right in the middle of this Corona crisis, I found myself in a situation where I was challenged with a difficult decision to make. Shall I, or shall I not, follow my dream into creating my own company in digital transformation consulting? Obviously I decided to start my own company and that's the reason why you are reading this post. But more than that fact, I would like to explain somehow why I did it.
Setting up my own company in times like this is just a reflection of who I am. I am convinced that in challenging times one must evaluate the accepted reality and consider options that might be found beyond the usual compass. The fact that I am taking a step into the unknown in times where most people - now more than ever - seek for stability is what defines me. I am thrilled to start this adventure and I am convinced that the passion I have for digital transformation is going to make this mission successful. Elaborating on this, maybe I can even say that this crisis came exactly at the right moment for me to really do this.
Of course, it speaks for itself that more than just enthusiasm, I have also counselled many people to pitch my idea and make sure that the business plan has a solid foundation to start from. I realise that it is incredibly important to have partners like an accountant, bank, notary and also just friends that are willing to listen to your idea and give you their honest opinion. To everybody that supported me on this, and maybe even more to the people that dared to doubt my idea - Thank you, I couldn't have done this without you!
In my next blog post I will share more information about the reason why Digital Transformation (DX) is so important and what kind of services DX Consulting is able to offer you.
